SEGREGATION INCREASES

Conservatives have control of the Presidency, House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Supreme Court. They have most of the governorships. That sounds like a clean sweep. So many problems have been argued, that Newsweek “Why Johnny Can’t Integrate” 5/19/2017:26-34 has raised another.  Or is it a problem?  Well no. It is not a race problem, but an autonomy problem. Neighbors want a good school with a curriculum that is NOT structured by “experts.” Further, “experts” are usually Progressive and their kids go to all white, upscale schools.

1954 was so long ago and in that year the Supreme Court decided that segregation by law (de jure segregation) was no longer lawful. 1988 was the peak year of desegregation and since then in 2014, Poor Black and Hispanic segregated schools have doubled to 15,000 schools from 7,000 at the turn of the century.

Most decisions are argued not on the basis of race but neighborhood desires. It would appear that if a candidate runs on “school choice” or says nothing at all they are going to win. Progressives live in a foreign land where geographically the country is nearly all red. The state of New York has the most segregated schools in the country.

Numerous folks that are of “color” can change their appearance, to look white and be accepted ,Snell, J. (2008):”Black Students in White Skins” College Student Journal  6/4/470-480 and Snell, Joel (Colorism/Neo-Colorism)manuscript pending.  However, “all white schools” generally welcome non-white individuals with incredible athletic talent in football and basketball. They also desire folks who are from the middle class and are lite/white. Further,  cyclical poor (temporarily poor) as opposed to structural poor (generations of poor.) are accepted. So progressive you are beaten, but that doesn’t mean you can’t work to improve the facilities and faculty of non-white schools. That goes along with separate, but equal doctrine and someday your state may turn a little more towards “purple” again.

As a guess, who is taking over the major party? It is the great,great grand sons and daughters of the Confederacy and slave holders. Or, it  is those who share their values.
