If you look into the research dealing with astrology, you may find that it predicts events no better than chance. However, you may have a patient that is a strong believer. This is a suggestion, astrologist should mix their jargon with Freudianism. Freud is still taught in post secondary psychology classes, but generally is dismissed. His defense mechanism and his divisions of id/ego/ superego are still helpful.

Avoid using astrology or mildly intermix it with your psychotherapy. Thus, the patient is more approachable and the psychotherapist can find common ground and then replace enough of the therapy (as an example cognitive behavior) with the astrological system.
