Abstract
The authors discuss a new subfield entitled “Biochemical Sociology.” They describe how, in this area, demographics are given first priority over biochemicals in blood, saliva, urine and related areas. Ultimately, social status and biochemicals are interactive. A common example is given.

THE USE OF THE URINE IN THE CHEMICAL TEST FOR INTOXICATIONPOSSIBLE ERRORS AND THEIR AVOIDANCE
November 1940 · Journal of the American Medical Association
Determination of the amount of alcohol in the blood has now become an important feature in the medicolegal diagnosis of intoxication. It is usually impossible, however, to obtain blood for direct analysis; if it is obtained, the findings may be excluded as evidence in court.1 Consequently an indirect determination of the concentration is now often made from saliva, from lung air and especially … [Show full abstract]

Effects of tetracycline on the 2 h urinary and salivary excretion of metronidazole
August 1993 · International Journal of Pharmaceutics
The effect of co-administration of tetracycline on the 2 h urinary and salivary levels of metronidazole (MZ) and its acetic acid metabolite (MAM) has been investigated. A modified high-performance liquid chromatography method has been employed for the determination of both metronidazole and its acetic acid metabolite content. Tetracycline was found to have effects on the 2 h levels of the drug in … [Show full abstract]

Loss of Immune Substances from the Body II. Diphtheria Antitoxin in Human Saliva
June 1931 · The Journal of Immunology
The paper dealt with diphtheria antitoxin in the salivas of “naturally” immune persons and of a toxoid-immunized person. The data owe much of their significance to the unusually high degree of antitoxic immunity of the people used as subjects with whom it was possible to establish ratios between the saliva and serum antitoxin more accurately than would be possible with subjects possessing the … [Show full abstract]
