BLOGS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE
BLOGS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE
Baker, Stephen & Heather Green (2005) Blogs will change your business, BUSINESS WEEK, 5/2, 57-67
There is another new mass media. It is called a weblog. Thousands are created every day and are often called BLOGS. If you want to see one goes to DAYPOP.COM/ this site is the website of all the top blogs.
Many blogs are fun for the owner, but not much use for you. In other words, it is back to Pareto’s ratio, that about 20% or less has most of the market. Most of the major media have blogs, but the interesting ones have tiny bits of information that make a politician into a liar. The blogs can bring down the high and mighty. Think of blogs as stringers or part time reporters who live every where. They have just a bit of information on something important happening or they have a lot of information on a tiny bit of news.
All of this you can read directly, however inaccurate it is. For the major media, blogs make great places to start searching for more information. Blogs are good for generating news, but they need real reporters to verify for accuracy. Blogs even have their own encyclopedia the WIKIPEDIA.COM/ it is written by the mass bloggers and then verified by those most learned in the field.
For businesses, a constant stream of information about products and services may catch the eye of other bloggers and it ignites hundreds of others to talk about it. If you don’t get your message out, your competitor will and they will get the sales. If you both compete, your information must be more interesting to grab the casual surfer and the bloggers.
