ANNIE SNELL 3020 MEREDITH ST. OMAHA, NEBASKA/ died 70 years ago.

Annie Snell died 70 years ago today. Her husband, George died numerous years ago. She never remarried, but became a seamstress, and remade her home for renters. This was 5 individuals. Rent included the clothes washed and dinner served. She went to the medical doctor the day previously and was pronounced healthy. As she was walking up the stairs at or around 5:30 she died instantly.

She left behind William and Charles her sons. As well as grandchildren Bill, Judith, Jay, and Joel were also part of the bereaved. On Sundays, she held family dinners for Charles’ family and weekly at least one lunch with William. Services were held at a mortuary in Omaha and the preacher was Richard Freud of the Benson Presbyterian Church.

3020 Meredith is now a parking lot today. The two story house and grape vines were torn down. All have passed except and Joel. March 11, 1949 was a very difficult day for Joel. It still is today. Annie is buried in Forest Lawn. Joel’s plot is also located there. The cemetery is about 5 miles from the Iowa border.
