DIANE DOLLY
DIANE DOLLY,
I met Diane in the spring of 1965. We remained friends all through that year. Diana was a senior at Omaha Tech High school. She worked at Richard Young hospital and there is where I met her. My last conversation was New Years Eve of that year.
She was poor. She lived on Cummings Street with her sister and Mother. Incidentally, her mom was an employee of Federal Envelope. This company was just across from their row house.
I would have put her through school and helped her into a middle class job. However, it was not to be. When I hear the LEFT BANK’S “WALK AWAY RENEE” I so vividly remember her.
Further, I remember her good friend Rita. All of this was at a time that I was moving into graduate school. I lived with a roommate on 80th and Blondo St. Incidentally, the following year or the year of 1967, I met my wife. She lived within a few blocks of Diane.
All of this was over half a century ago. My wife and I have been married for 53 years. There were 2 sets of sister that I briefly dated during this time. I am so happy to have known all of these people. Hopefully, I would like to see them on the other side someday that might not that long from now.
