FEMALE/ BISEXUALTY
FEMALE BISEXUALITY
THE WEEK (2008) 2.8/ P. 20
A new study on bisexuality among females suggests that over 85% are bisexual after
10 years. At the tenth year, they may be with a male or female, but they have the imagery in their heads and the desire in the hearts for both sexes.
However, straight girls who dance and kiss another girl to get the attention of males do not constitute organic bisexuality. It is situational bisex and is conducted to attract the other sex and to experiment with homosexuality. It appears that both the organic and environmental stimuli or triggers run along a continuum. Males have yet to be studied longitudinally. However, male/male dancing and kissing do not appear to attract females.
Women appear to want resources for their children and stable monogamy. This may be something that a practicing bisexual could provide, but then again perhaps not.
THE NEW REPUBLIC (2008) 2/13
Willentz (36-43)
The Schesinger journals run from 1952-2000. His first entry, President Truman announces that he will not run for another term. Arthur was known by his first name as a title as he did not have a Ph.D. but did teach in a couple of prestigious universities based upon his printed work. He lived in Georgetown when living there was modest, had a very large family, and a very intense social life. He was in a sense a celebrity journalist who got an appointment in the Kennedy administration.
He first was excited about Stevenson, but grew distant. Adlai liked politics on its positive side, but disdained the work and back stabbing necessary in a democracy. Thus, as a purist it was hard for him to accomplish much.
The Kennedy’s have been pragmatic Liberals and were likely to give as much as they took. These were the years that were most exciting to Arthur. He continually was writing, speaking, and lecturing at various schools because he was constantly broke. Most historians live very quiet lives and on the other hand he was perhaps the most famous. Fame meant spending and situating oneself at the right cafes and bistros where the gossip and related were most accessible. He published numerous books to stay out of poverty. His speaking tours were also lucrative to keep up his lifestyle that drove him to live modestly. The important thing was that he was there where other historians had to borrow on second hand information.
After JFK was assassinated, and then Robert killed much of his passion was lost. He was energized by the Watergate years and then fell into making money, being seen, and going on speaking tours.
Schlesinger was a name that could get him on the social circuit, but he left behind journals filled about an opportunity lost. Liberalism essentially died in 1968. Social Democratic Socialism never materialized, and the rest of his life he witnessed the struggle between various forms of conservatism. The pinnacle on the Right was Ronald Reagan, now even more popular in death than when he was alive.
By the time the second Bush was elected, he didn’t bother much with public life. Age was with him and he died seeing the downturn of conservatism. However, he was not elated because the Democratic Party has yet to be coherent. From 68’ onward, there have been only 2 Democratic presidents and they have been more like moderate Republicans.
BUSINESS WEEK (2008) 2/11
32-34
Major economists are rethinking FREE TRADE. Who benefits from Free Trade? The very rich DO and those with professional degrees. That group just described constitutes about 4% of the population. For every one else income is down and there is tension that one may be the next to have their job outsourced. It would appear that another 25% of the work force face extinction as jobs move overseas. All 3 candidates remaining appear to support retraining and income insurance for those who have been outsourced. Free trade needs time to develop new comparable jobs. However, when aspects of law, medicine, and other professions become outsourced, both parties face trouble.
