It is quite possible that when an operator answers the phone for a corporation, they are at home. All the technology is now available so that it can be outsourced from the main building to a home in a surrounding neighborhood. It is cheaper than having some one in the building and the home operator is more understandable than some one from India and China.

The operator works at home part time so full time wages and benefits do not apply.
