HUMAN NATURE REVISITED
HUMAN NATURE REVISITED
Human nature is still often debated and debated. Thousands of words, books, theology, philosophy and related has yet to come to a completion.
This author would like to suggest the following. Humans need to be bad to survive as a group warring against another group. The survival meant killing others outside of the group and sometimes within the group.
As we fumble and stumble through history. It would appear that we can become one of the worst species and at other times one of the best. However, the biology of us is a synthetic intermixture of both genetic and environmental.
When being with others, being guarded is perhaps the best way to begin a relationship. From there, we can learn to trust another. This usually takes a long time.
The historical dialect keeps moving in Marxian and Hegelian cycles. The mass killings under brutal dictators has been one side of the 20th century. The other side is the acceptance of numerous groups to be able to make more choices.
We are not sure that humans will last through the 21st century. We may destroy each other, kill each other robotically, technologically, or cause major damage to the planet and it reacts by dramatically changing to killing most of us.
So, it may be an outlier that in helping each other, we survive. However, we must begin with humans as a group but especially some humans as bad and then work from there. Away from liberal democracy, soft to strict authoritarianism appears to be surviving.
So, for a few, moving toward a more democratic society is still possible.
