IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY
IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY
1955- Dad made a chocolate cake for my birthday. All my brothers and sister had the cake. It’s Morningside a part of Sioux City. I am 8 years old!
1965- All my friends in the dorm at Clarke College bought me a pizza. We had a great time. I hope to graduate from college.
1975- Its just the 3 of us and we live at the Cottage at Cottonwood Marina. We went to town and we had pizza at Pizza Hut. Nathan really likes the restaurant. He is just 2. Joe is commuting to Brookings, South Dakota. It is lonely at times. Things will get better.
1985- There are 4 of us now and we went to a restaurant on the west side. The boys liked my birthday. We live in a little red house with a creek in back.
1995- We now live in a big red house on Alleghany. The boys did not call or send a card. They live in Iowa City. I felt bad, but Jason called the next day asking for money. He heard the tears and our guys never forgot my birthday again.
2005- Well both boys sent a card and present. One lives on the west coast and the other on the east coast !There was a stash of presents and a big balloon with WILD THING on it. Wilson jumped for joy. We went to a restaurant and later I played with a puzzle. There have been 58 birthdays. I might retire at the end of the year. Both of us would sure like to see more birthdays. Only time will tell.
