JUDITH ANN SNELL-KAMPFE*
Judith Ann Snell-Kampfe*
Judy Snell died. It was a good death. She died of complications and was in the hospice wing of a hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Chuck and Doris Snell. It might as well be said, Judy was their favorite child. Chuck and Doris often traveled on business related trips and Judy became not only the oldest, but she became a part time mother.
You see she had 2 little brothers and they were trouble. At school, she was a popular, but not a pompous classmate of folks who attended Rose Hill, Benson High, and the University of Nebraska (Lincoln.) There was young man who was really talented and from high school on, they went from being “steady” to an engagement and she was the first bride in a ceremony that was held in the newest wing of Benson Presbyterian church.
Then it was off to Albuquerque, where her husband “Billy” worked on rockets and she developed a system to help her daughters through school. Even there, so far into the west, she could hear the Nebraska game. Her very closest friend, Gerry Zimmerman stayed in touch for decades.
She was National Honor Society, Delta Gamma, and PEO. She was also an elementary educator in a school in the city. As this is being written, it is so cold outside. So, she was fortunate to move on into forever.
