Red and Blue States

Back in 2012 (“Division of 2 Americas”) Gazette, 12/5a, I tried to envision our country divided in 2   smaller nations. This stemmed from Ardell (2009:12/13) the TPJ magazine that the GOP has become the Confederate Party. Its geography covers the Midwest and South. Berfield (2020:5/4) of Bloomberg Business Week suggests that the Covid 19, has antagonized our disagreements. Following the turn of the 20^th Century, Teddy Roosevelt created the “Square Deal” to improve workers conditions and pay. Franklin Roosevelt did the same, as did Lyndon B. Johnson in the 60’s. She suggests that Covid Capitalism could do the same. Or, it could” increase privileges of the wealthy, monopolistic corporations, the insured, and those that work at home.”

It would appear to this author, that Red State families have more semi-automatics as well as other weaponary. They have a ton of money and land. The Blue States may find solace in creating “blue circles” with protected 4 lanes connecting the country. Another addition  for the Center and Left nation is a Centrist  President of Democrats and Moderate Republicans.

According to Fox News, one-third of our citizens define themselves as “socialists.” Essentially, they really are social democratic capitalists that like Europe and Scandanavia. For that matter, Cananda fits in this category. If history rhymes, a general strike by “essential workers” may introduce the Square Deal, New Deal, Great Society, and now the Covid 19 nation. One can only hope that we can give “peace” a chance.
