The Hellion Academy of Independent Learning, or HAIL, seeks to strengthen students’ critical thinking, good works in the community, compassion and empathy, self-directed learning and creative expression. It is not affiliated with or approved by the local school district or board members. It’s the first release program in Ohio.

The Satanic Temple has launched a religious learning program called HAIL (Hellion Academy of Independent Learning) for students at Edgewood Elementary School in Marysville, Ohio, as part of the state’s religious release program. Everett clarified that the Satanic Temple does not promote devil worship or any harmful practices; rather, they identify as non-theistic and do not believe in supernatural deities, including God or Satan, which is often misunderstood by the public.
LifeWise’s CEO supports the implementation of Ohio House Bill 445, which aims to standardize religious instruction policies in schools, emphasizing that all families should have the right to choose religious education for their children during school hours.
