SEXBOT’S IMPACT ON HUMANS

INTRODUCTION

Looking back to 1997, an article of mine was published in THE FUTURIST.  The main theme was the impact sexbots had in a unidirectional fashion or stimuli on humans. The reverse of that question was too far to see and describe. This is being written nearly 30 years after my original manuscript was published. I coined the term “sex bots.” The  distribution of article was worldwide. I could see that it would generate interest.  

DESCRIPTION

Since then, it has exploded and a number of valuable questions emerge. Perhaps one of the best Literature Reviews can be obtained at National Library of Science. There is one other caveat. Females appear to have much less interested in sex and sexbots than males. Further, women who are married generally don’t appear to like sex after months or years with male mate. If and when, sexbots become mainstream try to put dolls in the political arena of  pornography and then the debate may lessen .Sex means  sexual intercourse where humans directly interact with the bot. What may we see in terms of female’s perception of “sexbots?”

DISCUSSION

In most summaries, it would appear that women would not want to purchase a bot. Both sexes indicate they do not want child bots, or robots that look like a relative. Further, children are not part of a psychic –interaction scenario. If anything, children reduce sexual desire in the female.

Sexbot advertisements may promise increased romance, diversity and numerous other attractions. However, it is the author’s belief that the bot will drive the couple apart. The female may be resentful and distant. She knows that she loves her cisgender partner, but cannot generate desire. Further, he may inadvertently show more attention to the bot than to his long term human partner.

Finally, one may see now or earlier that sex status is not a social construct (that the sexes are exactly the same) but that the sexes are much closer than previously thought. They share roles and do many of the same types of activities . Surgery is also helpful. There is a variance. Male sexual desire does not sweeten human reality. One can safely surmise that most bots will be female. They can also be costly. Does sexbots become part of reality on the same level as pornography?

Last, numerous studies use all of the tricks of statistics and they vary greatly. It would appear that sexbots is still open to question. What we do know is that we don’t know with any certainty that bots will be surprisingly popular.  After 30 years, sexual robots appear to be far in the distance. If anything, bot-bot and human sexbots may be viewed, but they may not be welcomed into the dwelling of a number of viewers.

CONCLUSION

Sexbot research cannot be stopped, nor should it be. However, it could create some rather disparate dysfunctional outcomes. These include bot brothels, childbot brothels, botporn, child human-bot porn, ruination of careers and families. If anything, the public may want to see story form applications on cable or internet. It will be just varied enough for most to vicariously see the bot stories. However, distribution on one’s cable choices may not be likely

It may not be a mainstream member of the family.
