THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM

SUMMARY OF THE END OF THE SHOW
Elizabeth Warren, member of the U. S. Senate raises the most profound reason for the existence of two parties. The structure now in terms of making and passing legislation is in the hands of the Republicans. Numerous changes in the law now invite Gerrymandering, funding, campaigning, and the rest to Republicans. For years, the Democratic party is the other party. Significant legislation was completed in 2008-2010 and after that Republicans could tamper or kill other laws.
The Democratic party must on this night push for populism. That means the Democrats have to represent ordinary Americans. However, that is all but impossible. The majority of the funding come from the very rich that give to both parties. If the Democratic party lets the Dodd-Frank bill die, Wall street completely owns every last worthwhile entity in the country. Without Dodd-Frank, when Wall street creates financial instruments that are assembled to steal from ordinary investors, there may be a crash and the Federal government will then replenish the banks. In an emergency, this what Obama did in 2008. However, we now know the experience and the quality of people on Wall Street. There are enough psychopaths and thugs to steal from the country and then expected to be supported by the country. It is a form of socialism for the rich.
The usefulness of the Democratic Party will be on social causes where the rich really don’t care for either position. They know that with or without abortion, the money flow continues upward. Tonight is a big issue. Many will vote against themselves. Obama can be proud of his social legislation, but if Wall Street remains protected much is lost.
Hopefully, Mathews is wrong. However, this author believes that we live in a semi-sovereign country similar to other first world countries. Very few other countries have our form of government. Most have parliaments and workable coalitions are created after the first legislation’s meeting.
