WAYS UNIONS MAY SURVIVE
WAYS THAT UNIONS MAY SURVIVE
Presently, capital can move almost anywhere and labor cannot. If a job is not outsourced it is replaced by robotics. At this time, roughly about 10 percent of the full work force is in a union. In the mid 20th century, nearly 1 out of 2 workers were involved in collective bargaining. In adjusted terms, the elite have severely beaten workers.
This author suggests a few ways that may help workers.
- Change the name “union” to “consumer guild.”
- Almost anything may be purchased by the guild.
- The guild has a website that lists almost everything for a significant discount.
- Opposition to large discounts is punished by not purchasing their products and looking at the website for guidance.
- Even though there are many sites that may do this now. This site can represent millions of people. Thus it increases the purchasing clout of so many folks.
As a worker and a consumer what do I get? I pay a steady amount of money that is 100 dollars or less a month. With the purchasing power of millions, members, former members and the general public, we drive down prices and shape consumer and political policy. Monthly payers receive even bigger discounts.
Of course, this is beatable. That is the story of the circulation of elites and the irony law of oligarchy. However, you get up and organize again. It must be remembered that the elites on balance truly do not like you. Those workers must unite again and again.
