It was of course inevitable that Jeffrey Epstein’s death while in federal custody awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges would trigger widespread speculation and doubts about his cause of death. It was ruled a suicide, but “Epstein didn’t kill himself” quickly became a meme anyway, particularly in light of the apparent negligence by Manhattan Correctional Center guards as well as numerous other suspicious details surrounding his demise. But a new report from the New York Times Magazine, billed as the “fullest examination yet of Epstein’s death,” based on dozens of interviews, countless court and law enforcement records, and forensic analysis of available images and footage, has now filled in a lot of the blanks. That includes additional evidence, beyond Epstein’s alleged suicide note, which indicates he wanted to take his own life in the weeks before his death. The reporting also addresses alternate theories, including how it would have been exceptionally difficult for anyone to sneak into his cell and murder him. Per the report:
,
Some important questions about Epstein’s death remain unanswered and likely unanswerable. Nevertheless, our reporting establishes that Epstein showed a clear pattern of behavior in the weeks before his death suggesting an intent to kill himself.
,
Here’s the gist:
,,,,,
In the end, based on the Times Magazine reporting, it seems clear that Epstein’s death could and should have been prevented, but there is still no evidence to suggest that the incompetence and negligence of MCC staff was intentional or part of some attempt to ensure Epstein’s death, and other inmates did not notice any signs of foul play.

In the ever-changing world of nutrition advice, few recommendations are as clear-cut as those related to cancer prevention. According to oncology dietitians, the food and drink choices we make daily have a measurable impact on our long-term health. Nichole Andrews, RDN, a leading cancer dietitian, highlights two specific items she strongly advises limiting or avoiding entirely. Her message is simple: if you want to reduce your cancer risk, you need to understand the scientific evidence behind these dangerous dietary habits.
Processed meats top the “do not eat” list
The first red flag food group is processed meats — including bacon, sausage, hot dogs, ham, and canned meats. The concern isn’t based on opinion but on hard science. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), part of the World Health Organization, classifies processed meats as Group 1 carcinogens — the same category as tobacco and asbestos. This means there is strong evidence that regular consumption causes cancer in humans, particularly colorectal cancer. Continue reading
