YOUNG BOY RETURNS FROM DEATH
A ten year old boy died roughly three weeks ago and according to sources he saw the surgeon and support crew working on his heart that had failed. From there, he started to move up a dark tunnel filled with warmth and bliss. At the end of the tunnel was an Angel of Mercy.
His dead uncle introduced her. She wrapped her arms around the little boy and started reading the LAST GOSPEL to him. She put him in his lap and he felt totally at home and completed. He was filled with joy and part of him listened to her as she read to him the final truth of life beyond death. Not only did he feel total joy, but anticipation of seeing his other dead relatives and friends.
While in her lap, his eyes danced upon the pages, the LAST GOSPEL told him how others can find the true story of existence , but also of how the world works. As he was laying there, a light came upon him and told him that he had more to do on earth. Our little boy named Jacob became sad and slowly returned to the operating table where the surgeon and nurses sighed a relief of a “code blue” death of eleven minutes and 15 seconds. Jacob had returned.
When he finally got back to earth, Jacob told his mother that he wondered if the LAST GOSPEL was yet here in this life. His mother wondered and called a bookstore. The clerk on the other end of the phone said that they never heard of the book.
A half an hour later, the clerk called the mother and was exasperated and said that the LAST GOSPEL was on order and would be there in just a few days. It had just been published and soon would be in the store. When she got the book, she read it to Jacob. He seemed redeemed. He said the Angel read to him the same thing. LAST GOSPEL is now in your bookstore and on the internet for $24.99. The reviews have been remarkably good.
Now is that true? No. It is a story of a new strategy of advertising corporations that helps sell books. This is the new advertising. You write an interesting piece that seems like a news story. Once you start reading it, you become hooked to the message to go buy this book (which I use here from my own imagination.) Will you buy the book, maybe. It at least opens up your mind to something that is dear to you. When you die will you suffer or feel good? Or, will you just go to a dreamless sleep. Book sales go up with an interesting, very interesting story even if it’s phony and places it with other legitimate news on the internet. You will see a lot of them in HUFFPOST.COM. They are intermittently placed in one section or another and may jump to a new section periodically. It was also demonstrated on HBO’s ” GIRLS” in story form.
This is advertising ‘s new adventure. What is that all about? More people buy whatever. It is a new way to break down your resistance to looking at advertising. It is been around a long time in promotion of new movies, it is now moving into other areas. Numerous writers sit in cubicles thinking of stories that you may want to read then place the product or service in the story and hopefully you will buy it. The way you can tell that it is an advertisement is in the very small print beneath the picture of the story. It tells the name of the sponsor . Although I describe a phony book promotion, I am not selling you anything. Really! No picture is presented, no sponsor is noted, and the books does not exist. Now that is the story. It is called an ADVERTORIAL.
